WOODLAND HILLS, CA - The Rams and Saints squared off in a joint practice Thursday morning, tuning up ahead of Saturday's preseason matchup. Both squads looked dialed in and competitive heading into the 2026 season.
"I thought it was good and competitive work on both sides," Rams head coach Sean McVay said. Practices like these give the front office a chance to see how their roster measures up against outside competition early in the season by spotting strengths, exposing weak points, and pinpointing areas to sharpen before games start counting.
Tight end Terrance Ferguson has been playing with a lot of confidence on the field, and the Rams are counting on that swagger to make him a difference-maker as they chase a winning campaign.

With Puka Nacua sidelined by a groin injury, Konata Mumpfield seized the moment and elevated his play. "He's a sharp, savvy route runner. He's wired to be able to separate, and I think he's catching the ball really well," McVay said. "I love everything that he's about."
The Rams currently sit among the favorites to go all the way this year. At the end of the 2025 season, the Rams finished 12-5 and reached the NFC Championship Game. They also made two huge trades this off season, acquiring Myles Garrett and Trent Mc Duffie.
The Rams and Saints will put Thursday's work to the test Saturday, August 22, at SoFi Stadium in Week 2 of the preseason slate.
