The Dodgers beat the Padres 5-1 in Game 1 of the NLDS

10/7/20 Arlington, TX - The Los Angeles Dodgers, the top-seeded team in the MLB Postseason, hosted the San Diego Padres at Globe Life Field in Arlington Texas exploded in the bottom of the sixth inning to come away with a 5-1 victory.
The Dodgers' Walker Buehler didn't have his best night pitching, which allowed the Padres to score first in the top of the fourth inning after Austin Nola hit a sacrifice fly ball that scored Wil Myers, giving them a 1-0 lead.
Buehler pitched himself out of a jam in the top of the fourth inning, after loading the bases, regain his pitching form, and was able to get out of the inning, holding the Padres scoreless.
The Dodgers tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning after the Padre's second baseman Jake Cronenworth committed a throwing error that allowed Justin Turner to score.

Corey Seager, in the bottom of the sixth inning, hit a sacrifice fly ball that scored Chris Taylor to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. Turner hit a ground ball that scored Mookie Betts, that increase the Dodgers lead to 3-1.
The Dodgers, still in the sixth inning, added to more run to their total after Cody Bellinger hit a ground ball that scored Turner, making the score 4-1.
Moments later, the Padres' relief pitcher Craig Stammen threw a wild pitch that allows Max Muncy to score from the third base, made the score 5-1.

The Dodgers sent in Brusdar Graterol to close out the top of the ninth inning and secured the Dodgers 5-1 victory in the first game of the NLDS.
Buehler had to deal with a blister on his right index finger, pitched four innings, and had eight strikeouts. Dustin May pitched two innings and had three strikeouts.
