12/29/19 LOS ANGELES, CA - The USC Trojans came out the gate sluggish against the visiting Florida Gulf Eagles but got their act together in their 71-58 non-conference victory, improving their record to (11-2).

USC was without one of their players Oneyeka Okongwu, but Nick Rakocevic led the charge scoring 19 points 13 rebounds, Daniel Utomi 13 points, and Jonah Mathews 10 points.

The Eagles jumped out on the Trojans 7-0 before the Trojans went on an 11-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. USC was mounting up a lot of turnovers that kept the Eagles in striking distance at the end of the first half, trailing the Trojans -35-31.

This was the first time that Andy Enfield had faced his old team before taking on the USC job, shared his view about their first meeting.

"It was fun to see them, but when the game started, you have a game to play and it could have been anybody down there," Enfield said. "The jerseys didn't matter to me at that point. But it is nice to see familiar faces."

In the second half, USC had a ten-point lead 46-36 after a basket by Utomi with 13:37 left in the game. The Trojans would increase their lead to 65-52 after Rakocevic slammed a monster dunk with 2:21 left in the game.

The Eagles just didn't have enough firepower to keep up with the Trojans offense as they cruise to a 71-58 victory at the Galen Center. USC didn't take care of the ball tonight as Florida Gulk picked their pockets 14 times, and the Eagles' Caleb Catto had five of them.

The Trojans also committed 19 turnovers that led to 15 points for the Eagles. For more photos from this game, the gallery is below this post. All the photos are by Marvin Jimenez/T.G.Sportstv1. #USCTrojans, #NCAA, #Pac12
