UCLA Dominates Oregon 83-56 to Sweep Season Series

2/19/21 WESTWOOD, Ca - The #8 UCLA Bruins (12-3) were finally back at Pauley Pavilion after their two games road trip, hosted the #13 Oregon Ducks (12-5), who they beat on the road in Eugene 73-71 back in January, swept the season series after beating Oregon 83-56.

Charism Osbourne leads UCLA in scoring, averaging 18.9 ppg., and Michaela Onyenwere averaging 17.4 ppg. The Oregon Ducks leading scorers are Nyara Sabally averaging 12.4 ppg, Te-Hina 10.6 ppg, and Erin Boley 10.1 ppg.

UCLA jumped out early and led by ten-points, 18-8, in the first quarter after a jump shot by Emely Bessoir. The Bruins went a 10-3 run to lead the Ducks 28-11 after two free throws by Osbourne to close out the quarter.

The Ducks trailed the Bruins 35-22 in the second quarter after a layup by Te-Hina Paoppao. UCLA had a twenty-point lead, 42-22, after a layup by Onyenwere with 3:20 left in the first half.

UCLA led by twenty-four points at halftime, 46-22. Oyenwere and Osborne led the Bruins in scoring, both with 10-points and Chantel Horvat 8-points. Paopao led Oregon in scoring with 8-points.

The Bruins made 8 of 15 shots behind the three-point arc, 53.3 percent, and the Ducks shot poorly, made only 9 of 30 shots from the floor, 30.0 percent, and three-point range 3 of 10, 30.0 percent.

The Bruins continue their dominance leading at the end of the third quarter, 63-44, after a layup and a free throw by Oregon's Sedona Prince. Things didn't get better in the fourth quarter for the Ducks.

Oregon trail UCLA the Bruins by twenty-four points, 71-47, after a three-pointer by Natalie Chou with 6:24 left in the game. The ducks were stuck on 47 points for about three minutes before Chavez Taylor's three-pointer made the score 77-53 with 3:15 left in the game.

UCLA went on a 6-3 run to close out the quarter and beat Oregon 83-56. The Bruins leading scorers of the game were Onyenwere 17-points, Miller 16-points, Cho 14-points, Osborne 13-points, and Chantel Horvat 10-points.
