USC bounces back after losing to Arizona to beat Oregon 72-58

2/23/21 LOS ANGELES, Ca - The USC Trojans (18-4, Pac12, 12-3) were looking to bounce back and get back to their winning ways, did so by beating the Oregon Ducks (14-4, Pac12, 9-3), 72-58 at the Galen Center.

In the first half, Tahj Eaddy made three 3-pointers to give USC a 9-0 lead. Drew Peterson's layup gave the Trojans a sixteen-point lead, 17-1, with 13:26 left in the first half.

Eric Williams Jr. made a free throw, and a basket by Franc Kepnang made the score 17-3. Ethan Anderson's three-pointer had the Trojans leading 22-7 with 7:32 left in the first half.

Eaddy continued his hot shooting and made another three-point shot to give the Trojans a 30-9 lead. The Ducks' Chris Duarte made a three-pointer that made the score 30-13 with 4:13 left in the first half.

The Trojans led 41-18 after back-to-back baskets by Eaddy. Peterson would make a layup that had USC leading at halftime 43-22. Eaddy had 21-points in the first half, 7 of 10 from the floor, 5 of 7 from behind the three-point arc, and Peterson with 9-points.

USC made 17 of their 26 shots from the floor, 65.5 percent, 7 of 11 from the three-point arc, 65.4 percent, and committed seven turnovers.

Williams Jr. led Oregon in scoring with 9-points and Duarte with 7-points. The Ducks made 10 of 29 shots from the floor, 35.4 percent, 1 of 8 from the three-point arc, and committed five turnovers.

Isaiah White had battled for a rebound, and his put-back basket gave the Trojans a 45-22 lead in the second half. Evan Mobey got a pass from Peterson and made a monster dunk that making the score 50-29.

The Trojans were leading by twenty-points, 57-37, after a hook shot by Chavez Goodwin with 12:17 left in the game. Chandler Lawson's three-pointer had Oregon down by sixteen-points, 59-43.

The Ducks went on an 8-4 run and now trail 63-51 after Williams' three-pointer with 6:19 left in the game. Oregon cut their deficit down to ten-oints, 66-56, with a layup by Williams.

Max Agbonkpolo's three-point shot gave the Trojans a 69-56 lead with 3:16 left in the game. Evan Mobley's back door two-handed dunk had the Trojans leading 72-56 with 1:46 left in the game.

USC went on to beat Oregon 72-58, improving their record to (13-4) in the Pac-12 Conference. Eaddy led the Trojans in scoring with 24-points, Peterson 15-points, and Evan Mobley 11-points.

LJ Figueroa and Williams both had 14-points to lead Oregon in scoring, followed by Duarte with 11-points. The Trojans' next game will be Thursday, on the road to play the Colorado Buffaloes.
