Clippers come from behind to beat the Hawks 119-110

3/22/21 LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers took on the Atlanta Hawks at the Staple Center and had to rally down by twenty-two-points in the second half to escape with an amazing come from behind 119-110 victory.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers in scoring with 25-points, Terance Mann 21-points, Luke Kennard 20-points, and Marcus Morris Sr. with 19-points. Trae Young was the leading scorer for the Hawks with 28-points, followed by John Collins 23-points.

The Clippers jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first quarter after a three-pointer by Marcus Morris Sr. Morris Sr and two free throws that gave him 10 points.

The Clippers led 21-11 after Paul George made a three-point shot. The Hawks' Clint Capela made a tip-in basket that made the score 21-15, and the Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue called a timeout.

Morris Sr. made another three-point shot to give the Clippers a 26-18 lead with 3:37 left in the quarter. The Hawks' defense allowed them to go on an 11-2 run to lead the Clippers by one-point, 29-28, with a basket made by Rajon Rondo. Terance Mann made a dunk to give the Clippers a 30-29 lead at the end of the quarter.

The Hawks led the Clippers by seven-points in the second quarter 41-34 after a three-pointer by Tony Snells. Clippers fought back to trail the Hawks 48-43 after a jump shot by Kawhi Leonard with 4:15 left in the first half.

Atlanta would continue to pile up the points and led at halftime 62-49. Trae Young led the Hawks in scoring with 20-points, and John Collins and Capela both had 10-points.

Morris Sr. led the Clippers in scoring with 13-points, 4 of 5 from the floor, 3 of 4 from the three-point arc, Leonard 11-points, and Ibaca Zubac 11-points.

The Clippers trail the Hawks by thirteen-points in the third quarter, 68-56, after a three-point basket by Leonard. The Hawks had built a twenty-point lead 84-64 after a layup by Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue decided he had seen enough and took out his starters, and the players off the bench gave their coach and the Clippers a big lift.

"I just wanted to put a group in to try to change it up," Lue said. "Play hard and compete. Those guys did a hell of a job."

The Clippers fought back and were down by eight points at the end of the third quarter, 90-82, after a buzzer-beater three-point shot by Luke Kennard.

The Hawks led the Clipper by five-points, 96-91 in the fourth quarter after a layup by Terance Mann. Kennard made a jump shot had the Clippers down 103-96 with 6:31 left in the game.

Moments later, Leonard made a free throw after being fouled on his shot, making the score 103-99, forcing Atlanta to call a timeout with 5:52 left in the game.

Terance Mann made a layup that tied the game 103-103 with 4:35 left in the game. Mann made a three-pointer to give the Clippers a 110-108. Morris Sr. three-pointer would push the Clippers lead up to 113-108.

Leonard would make a three-point shot to give the Clippers an eight-point lead 116-108 with 1:23 left in the game. Leonard would knock down another three-point shot that made the final score 119-110.
