4/14/21 LOS ANGELES, CA - The Colorado Rockies found themselves down two games to the Los Angeles Dodgers and had to face Dustin May (1-0) for the second game, fell to the Dodgers 4-2.

John Gray, the starting pitcher for the Rockies, went 4.0 innings, allowed five hits, three runs, and four strikeouts. Mays for the Dodgers pitched 4.1 innings, allowed seven hits, six strikeouts, and two runs.

Mookie Betts first a bat in the bottom of the first inning singled into left field. Corey Seager got on base after Betts.

Justin Turner hit a single that allowed Betts to score to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. Gavin Lux hit a sacrifice fly, which allowed Corey Seager to score, making the score 2-0.

Justin Turner hit a home run over the center-field wall in the bottom of the third inning to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead.

"I just feel good. I'm comfortable," Turner said. "I'm not trying to hit a bunch of homers. I'm just trying to take good at-bats and hit balls hard somewhere. A couple of them have gone over the fence already. That's nice."

"I think it's just a law of averages," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. "April hasn't been good for Justin as far as a slugger, but he was due to slug a little bit in April. I'm happy that it's here in 2021. He looks really good at the plate, taking good at-bats and doing what he does."

The Rockies score at the top of the fifth inning after Trevor Story single and Yonathan Daza scored that made the score 3-1.

The Rockies added another run to make the score 3-2 after Charlie Blackmon hit a ground ball and was out on a fielder choice allowing Garrett Hampson to score from third base.

Zach Mckinstry continues to sizzle for the Dodgers, hit a home run in the bottom of the eight-inning to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead. The Dodgers had Kenley Jansen come in the top of the ninth inning and held the Rockies scoreless and picked up his third save of the season.

The Dodgers have won five games straight, and the first team in the majors with ten victories, and will close out the series on Thursday, on Jackie Robinson Day. For more photos from this game, click on the link below. #mlb #ladodgers #rockies #coloradorockies #losangelesdodgers #justinturner
