Paul George and the Clippers beat the Trail Blazers 133-116

4/6/21 LOS ANGELES, CA - The Portland Trail Blazers, with a record of (30-19), came to the Staple Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers (33-18), and was blown out 133-116 after Paul George scored 36-points, Kawhi Leonard 29-points, and Reggie Jackson with 23-points.
Norman Powell led Portland in scoring with 32-points, CJ McCollum 24-points, Robert Covington 15-points, Enes Kanter 13-points, and Damian Lillard 11-points.
DeMarcus Cousins made his debut with the Clippers scoring 7 points, and Patrick Beverly returned to the starting lineup chipped in with 8 points.
The Clippers took a 12-3 lead in the first quarter with a three-point shot by Patrick Beverly returning to the starting lineup. Paul George's three-pointer gave the Clippers a ten-point lead, 18-8 lead.

Ivica Zubac added to the Clippers scoring with a two-handed dunk slashing down the lane that made the score 26-16.
Portland CJ McCollum floater had the Blazers trailing 32-24 with 4:21 left in the quarter. Marcus Morris's three-point shot from the left side of the basket made the score 38-29.
George knocked down another three-pointer to give the Clippers a 43-30 lead with 1:32 left in the quarter. The Clippers ended the first quarter leading 47-32 after a follow basket by George.
The Clippers led the Trail Blazers 62-36 in the second quarter after a basket by DeMarcus Cousins with 8:35 left in the first half. Damian Lillard made a pair of free throws that had Portland down 64-41.
Kawhi Leonard's layup had the Clippers leading 68-45. McCollum's step-back jump shot made the 70-54. Robert Covington's three-pointer had Portland trailing at halftime 73-66.

George led the Clippers in scoring with 24-points and Leonard 13-points. McCollum led Portland in scoring with 20-points, Norman Powell 15-points, and Enes Kanter with 11-points.
Portland stayed close in the game by getting to the free-throw line and made sixteen of their twenty-one free throws, and the Clippers made seven of their eight of their free throws.
George continued his long-range shooting in the third quarter, made another that had the Clippers up 82-70. Zubac running dunk made the score 84-70, forcing Portland to take a timeout.
Portland was down by five points, 89-84, after a Camelo Anthony's jump shot. Ronja Rondo layup had the Clippers up 100-89. Leonard made a free throw that made the score 101-89 at the end of the third quarter.
George continues his hot shooting during the fourth quarter after making another three-point shot, and the Clippers now led 110-98. Reggie Jackson made a layup increasing the Clippers' lead to 118-100.
Kanter jump shot had Portland trailing 123-106 with 5:00 minutes left in the game. Moments later, Leonard was foul driving to the basket and made the basket, and his free throw, making the score 128-108.
The Clippers beat the Trail Blazers 133-116 to improve their home record to (19-8) and host the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.
