5/17/22 LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers scored six runs in the second inning and got the doubleheader sweep with a 12-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.

Freddie Freeman and Trea Turner combined for 7 RBIs, and Edwin Rios hit a three-run home run to help the Dodgers win their fourth straight.

"It's kind of nice when Mookie gets on, I get on, and Trea knocks it in," Freeman said. "We had two runs with the first three batters. "The offense has been swinging well, and I have to give props to Edwin. It's very hard not to play every day and put up quality (at-bats), and he's been doing it every time he gets into the lineup."

Arizona opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with back-to-back solo home runs from Jordan Luplow and Christian Walker to lead 2-0.

The Dodgers responded in the bottom of the first inning and tied the game 2-2, with Turner hitting a two-run single, scoring Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

Los Angeles took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Gavin Lux hit a two-run double to left field. Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy scored after both reached base on walks.

Freeman was intentionally walked, and Turner came up to bat and hit a single to score Lux, giving the Dodgers a 5-2 lead.

Edwin Rios continued the scoring barrage in the second inning with a three-run home run to left field, and the Dodgers extended their lead over the Diamondbacks to 8-2.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lux and Austin Barnes got on base with singles. Betts walked to load the bases with no outs. Freeman hit a double to left field, and Lux and Barnes both came home, making the score 10-2

Betts would score on a throwing error in the bottom of the sixth inning and scored in the bottom of the eighth inning after Freeman had doubled to right field, and the Dodgers now led 12-2.

The Dbacks trail the Dodgers 12-3 when Jake Hager grounded into a force-out at first base, and Geraldo Perdomo scored from third base in the top of the ninth inning.

The series finale will be on Wednesday, with Arizona sending Zach Davies (2-1) to the mound and the Dodgers Walker Buehler (4-1). For more photos from this game, click on the link below. #mlb #ladodgers #gavinlux #arizonadiamonfbacks #tgsportstv1 #dodgersbaseball
