8/13/20 Los Angeles, Ca - After receiving his Silver Slugger Award pre-game alongside Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Mookie Betts went into a zone of epic proportions.

Betts connected on a two-run homer to center that scored Chris Taylor and gave Los Angeles a 5-2 lead in the third inning.

Later in the bottom of the fourth, Betts connected on a solo homer that elevated the Dodger lead 9-2 over the Padres.

However, Betts wasn't finished until the bottom of the fifth inning, where he knocked a two-run homer that was the nail in the coffin against the Padres for an 11-2 win.

"I've been doing it my whole life so I think I'm just comfortable there," Betts said. "It's just one of those things where you only lead off once, but I enjoy getting things started and creating havoc on the basepaths."

Betts found himself in elite company, being the sixth time in his career where he hit three homers in a game joining Sammy Sosa and Johnny Mize in that category.

According to the MLB Network, it took Sammy Sosa 1,884 games to get his MLB-record 6th 3-homer game. It took Johnny Mize 2,354 games, where it took Betts 813 games.

"I just think it's pretty cool, but it's not as important as the rings," Betts said

The record-setting night for Betts and an onslaught of offensive performance by the Dodgers who thrust themselves into a tie for first place in the NL West. For more photos from this game click on the link below. #mlb #dodgers #padres #baseball #mookiebetts #mokkiebetssmemes #sports #tgsportstv1
