Rangers Cool Off the Dodgers 6-2 on Jackie Robinson Day

8/28/20 Arlington, Texas - The Los Angeles Dodgers after beating the San Francisco Giants 2 out of 3 games with the best record in baseball travel to Arlington Texas and came on the short end of the stick last night as the Texas Rangers beat them 6-2.

Tonight's game both team were celebrating Jackie Robinson Day, and despite the Rangers record of (12-19), and have lost 10 of their last 11 games, had some great pitching and hitting were able to knock off the Dodgers (24-10).

The Rangers scored first in the bottom of the 3rd inning after Shin-Soo Choo hit a double that knocked Leody Taveras to give them a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Nick Solak single into right-field, and Choo scored made the score 2-0.

During the top of the 7th inning Corey Seager double that allowed Will Smith to score making the score 2-1. Justin Turner came up next for the Dodgers, single into left-field, and Seager scored to tie the game 2-2.

The Rangers' bats exploded in the bottom of the 7th inning when Derek Dietrich homer to regain the lead 3-2, and Choo single into center-field knocking in Kiner-Falefa increased their lead to 4-2.

The final two runs from the Rangers came by Solak hitting a double, and Scott Heineman came home, made the score 5-2, and Jose Trevino's sacrifice fly ball allowed Choo to score the final run of the game 6-2 to beat the Dodgers.

The Dodgers haven't lost a series all season, and Ross Stripling (3-1) is supposed to pitch on Saturday, and for the Rangers Lance Lynn (4-0), so it should be a good game on tomorrow.
