Aaron Judge hits 51st home run in 7-4 win over Angels

8/30/2022 ANAHEIM, CA - The New York Yankees snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium.


ANAHEIM, CA - New York opened the scoring in the top of the first inning when Andrew Benintendi hit a solo home run to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.


Anthony Rizzo hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the second inning and the Yankees took a 2-0 lead over the Angels.


Los Angeles evened the score 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning on Max Sassi's 2-run home run to right center field.


The Yankees added to their lead in the top of the third inning on a throwing error by Luis Rengifo, which allowed Aaron Judge and Dj Lemahieu to score for a 4-2 lead.


In the top of the fourth inning, Judge hit a 3-run home run to right field and the Yankees extended their lead 7-2. It was his 51st home run of the season.


"Got a pitch over the plate, a couple of guys on, and drove it out of the park," Angels Interim manager Phil Nevin said. "That's what he does. He's in the groove right now."


Mike Ford hit a solo home run to cut the Yankees' lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Angels added a run on Taylor Ward's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Inning.
