8/7/20 Los Angeles, Ca - After being out of the line up for three games with a finger injury, Mookie Betts was back in action with a double and a home run to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 7-2.
With Betts's presence back in the lineup, it energized the Dodgers' players and their offense, and with the win improved their record to (10-4), and the Giants fell to (6-9).
Mookie doubled in the first inning, but in the bottom of the third inning trailing the Giants 1-0, hit his first home run of the season at Dodgers Stadium tied the game 1-1. After that, the Dodgers' bats went to work.
In the same inning, Justin Turner hit a single that scored Cody Bellinger, giving the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. The Dodgers continued to add to their total in the bottom of the fourth inning, Max Muncy hit a solo home run, and Will Smith's home run that scored Chris Taylor increased their lead to 5-1.
Cody Bellinger scored again in the bottom of the fifth inning after Chris Taylor hit into a forced-out made the score 6-1. The Giants got their second run of the game in the top of the sixth inning when Wilmer Flores hit a solo home run over the center-field wall making the score 6-2.
The Dodgers' final blow of the game came in the bottom of the eighth inning after Edwin Rios homer of the right-field wall scoring the last run of the game and a 7-2 victory at home, now trail the Colorado Rockies by 1/2 a game for first place in NL West.
