Cowboys beat the Chargers at the end of the game 20-17

9/19/21 INGLEWOOD, CA - The Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) hosted the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) and lost at the end of the game 20-17 at So-Fi Stadium.

The Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed 31 of 41 passes for 338-yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Dak Prescott for the Cowboys threw the football 27 times, completing 23 of his passes for 237-yards and one interception.

The Cowboys scored in the first quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run by Tony Polland, and the extra point kick made by Greg Zuerlein made the score 7-0.

Tristan Vizcaino kicked a 46-yard field goal that had the Chargers trailing the Cowboys 7-3. The Cowboys increased their lead to 14-3 on a 5-yard touchdown run by Ezekiel Elliot made the score 14-3.

The Chargers would score in the second quarter when Justin Herbert threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams, and a two-point conversion run by Austin Ekeler made the score 14-11.

Vizcaino would tie the game for the Chargers 14-14 in the third quarter after kicking a 32-yard field goal.

The Cowboys would regain the lead 17-14 in the fourth quarter when Zuerlein kicked a 32-yard field goal. Vizcaino would tie the game again for the Chargers 17-17 after kicking a 29-yard field goal with 3:54 seconds left in the game.

The Chargers' defense couldn't stop Prescott and the Cowboys' offense from marching down the field that set up a 56-yard field goal by Zuerlein that won the game for Dallas 20-17.

The leading receiver for the Chargers was Keenan Allen, with four catches and 108-yards, and the leading rusher was Austin Ekeler, four carries for 54-yards.

Tony Polland led the Cowboys in rushing carried the ball thirteen times for 109-yards and one touchdown. CeeDee Lamb had eight catches for 81-yards to lead the Cowboys in receptions.
