9/21/20 Philadelphia, Pa - The Los Angeles Rams improve their record in the NFC West Conference too (2-0) after beating the Philadelphia Eagles 31-19 at Lincoln Financial Field. The Rams' quarterback Jared Goff threw five passes to his tight-end Tyler Higbee for 54-yards, and three of his catches were touchdowns.
Goff completed 20 of 27 passes for 267-yards and the Rams' (HB) Darrell Henderson Jr. carried the ball 12 times for 81 yards. The Eagles' quarterback Carson Wentz completed 26 of his 43 passes for 242-yards and two interceptions. Miles Sanders carried the ball 20 times for the Eagles for 95-yards.
The Rams scored in the first quarter when Goff connected with his tight-end Tyler Higbee on a 4-yard touchdown pass to give them a 7-0 lead. The Eagles' Kicker Jake Elliot kicked a 38-yard field goal that made the score 7-3.
Roberts Woods, with 1:48 left in the first quarter, scored on a 5-yard touchdown run, increasing the Rams lead to 14-3. Goff completed 10-of-10 passes in the first quarter. The Rams Head Coach Sean McVay spoke about Goff's first-quarter performance.
"He played really well. He was outstanding. I thought he had great command of what was going on and recognized the different looks. The Eagles are a challenging defense with a lot of different things they can present. He got into a rhythm, and guys made plays. It starts with him, and he did an outstanding job today."
Higbee wasn't finished adding to his touchdown totals, scored his second touchdown of the game in the second quarter, caught a three-yard pass from Goff pushing the Rams lead up to 21-3.
The Eagles' quarterback Carson Wentz ran in for a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, making the score 21-9. Miles Sanders (HB) would score on a 5-yard touchdown run with 35 seconds left in the half that made the score 21-16.
In the third quarter, the Rams' kicker Samuel Sloman kicked a 30-yard field goal making the score 24-16. The Eagles' Elliot kicked his second field goal, from 33-yards out that made the score 24-19.
Higbee in the fourth quarter, caught his third touchdown of the game After Goff threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to him, making the score 31-19.
Darrell Henderson Jr. put the finishing touches in the game when he scored on a 2-yard touchdown run as the Rams went on to beat the Eagles 37-19 for his first touchdown of the season.
