3/28/21 LOS ANGELES, CA - Doc Rivers return to the Staple Center as head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, looking to beat his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, loss by ten-points, 122-112.
Kawhi Leonard scored 29-points, Paul George 24-points, and Terance Mann 23-points. Tobias Harris led the 76ers in scoring with 29-points, followed by Danny Green with 17-points, and Shake Milton with 16-points.
Clippers trail the 76ers 14-9 in the first quarter, after a jump shot by Marcus Morris Sr. The 76ers had a three-point lead 21-18 after the Clippers' Reggie Jackson three-point shot.
Morris Sr. would make a three-pointer that made the score 25-23 with 2:01 left in the quarter. Luke Kennard tied the game 26-26 with a jump shot at the top of the key.
The Clippers trail the 76ers by one-point, 39-38, after a layup by Terance Mann. Mann would make a three-pointer to give the Clippers a 45-44 lead with 6:46 left in the first half.
Kawhi Leonard made a baby hook shot that was good and was foul and made his free throw to give the Clippers 51-48 lead.
The 76ers tied the game 53-53 after a jump shot by Tobias Harris with 4:09 left in the first half. Leonard made a three-pointer to give the Clippers a 60-57 lead.
Mann was foul on his jump shot that made the score 62-59, and the Clippers called a time-out. Leonard's dunked from the right side of the court gave the Clippers a 64-59 lead.
Seth Curry got a technical foul, and Paul George made a free throw, and the Clippers led at halftime 65-60. Leonard led the Clippers in scoring with 19-points, Mann 13-points, and George 12-points.
Tobias Harris was the leading scorer for the 76ers with 17-points, and Danny Green and Ben Simmons both with 11-points.
The Clippers in the third quarter led 86-73 after a three-pointer by Morris Sr. Shake Milton made a layup for the 76ers that made the score 93-81 with 1:43 left in the quarter. Milton made two free throws which had the 76ers trailing at the end of the quarter 97-84.
In the fourth quarter, Tobias Harris made a jump shot that made the score 110-97. The Clippers led 117-101 after a layup by Leonard. Paul Reed had a tip-in basket that had the 76ers down 119-106.
The Clippers would end the game beating the 76ers 122-112, improving their record to (31-16) and the 76ers (32-14).
