12/28/19 LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Clippers had just beaten their in house rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day in a hard-fought 111-106 victory, came up short against the Utah Jazz 120-107 on Saturday night. The Clippers didn't have the services of Montrezl Harrell out with an injury.

Paul George scored 20 points to lead the Clippers in scoring, followed by Kawhi Leonard 19 points, Lou Williams 16 points, and Ivica Zubac 15 points. Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz in scoring with 30 points, Jordan Clarkson 19 points, and Bojan Bogdanovic 17 points.

Clarkson was traded to the Jazz a few days ago from the Cleveland Cavaliers made 7 of 13 shots from the floor, and seem to fit right in with the offensive flow with his new teammates.

In the first quarter, George was on fire, made 4 of 6 shots scoring 12 points, to give the Clippers a ten-point lead 32-22 at the end of the quarter. Joe Ingles 9 points kept the Jazz close.

Kawhi Leonard was scoreless in the first quarter, made up for it in the second quarter, scored 14 points, Patrick Beverly, and Ivica Zubac both with 12 points as the Jazz trail the Clippers at halftime 63-61. Clarkson had 13 points for the Jazz, followed by Mitchell's 12 points.

Late in the third quarter, the Jazz led the Clippers by ten-points 87-77 after a three-pointer by Mitchell. The Clippers went on a 9-2 run to make the score 89-86 after a dunk by George. The quarter ended with the Jazz up by one-point 93-92.

The Clippers in the fourth quarter, had no answer for Mitchell scoring rip them for 8 points, and Clarkson timely shooting, helped secure the Jazz 120-107 victory, improving their record to (20-12), and the Clippers fell to (23-11).

The Jazz defense in the fourth quarter, only allow Leonard to score just two-points and George had no points had everyone shaking their heads at the end of the game.

"He is just not making shots," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said of George. "And we have to do a better job of getting him shots. So the offense has to run better for him to get shots."

Doc Rivers had the right assessment on one of the best closers in the NBA, to go along with Kawhi Leonard, and Lou Williams has to a better job of getting these guys in the flow of the offense late in games.
