Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams shine in the Rams’28-6 win over the Giants

INGLEWOOD, CA - Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards, 4 touchdowns, and one interception; Davante Adams caught 8 passes for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Aaron Donald's return ignited the Los Angeles Rams' offense and defense to beat the New York Giants 28-6 on Monday Night Football.
The Rams' running game featured Kyren Williams carrying the ball 12 times for 85 yards, and Blake Corum 12 carries for 79 yards. Terrance Ferguson caught 6 passes for 54 yards and one touchdown. Puka Nacua didn’t play.
New York starting quarterback Jaxson Dart got hurt in the first quarter, and Jameis Winston replaced him t and completed 11 of his 27 passes for 111 yards and one interception.
Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay was pleased with how they bounced back after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
“All right, guys. First of all, I thought our group did a great job tonight, McVay said. Our defense was outstanding from the very jump. We had a couple turnovers offensively. Not getting points at the end of the half was disappointing, but I did [like] the way that we responded. I thought we got the running game going a little bit in the second half, but I did feel our defense's pressure and presence all night, where you could see they never got comfortable.
Hopefully, [Giants QB Jaxson] Dart is okay, but you could feel even with [Giants QB Jameis] Winston, a really good quarterback that I have a lot of respect for, we were able to apply pressure to him. I thought we were sticky in coverage. The guys did a really good job.

The Rams struck first when Matthew Stafford found a wide-open Davante Adams for a 31-yard touchdown reception with 11 seconds left in the first quarter, leading 7-0 after going 80 yards on 8 plays.
In the second quarter, Stafford connected with Adams on a 64-yard reception to the Giants’ 14-yard line. Los Angeles led 14-0 after Stafford threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Kyren Williams (RB) with 3:28 left before halftime.
The Giants were deep in Rams territory at their 31-yard line after Jameis Winston threw a 33-yard pass to Darnell Moody. The Rams got their first turnover of the game when Trent McDuffie (CB) intercepted Winston’s pass intended for Malik Nabers (WR) in the end zone and ran it back to their own 21-yard line.
New York got a break when Kyren Williams had the football punched out for a fumble by Jevon Holland (FS), and recovered by Holland at the Rams’ 11-yardline.
The Giants settled for a 24-yard field goal after Aaron Donald (DE) and Kam Curl (S) snuffed out the run play in the backfield for a huge loss on 3rd and two, trailing 14- 3 at halftime.
Adams would score again on an 11-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to give the Rams a 21-3 lead, capping an 86-yard drive on 7 plays. New York trailed 21-6 after Zvada kicked a 52-yard field goal with 2:23 left in the third quarter.
The Giants trailed 28-6 in the fourth quarter after Stafford threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Ferguson (TE), capping a 64-yard drive on 9 plays. The Rams will travel next to take on the Denver Broncos (1-1) on Sunday at 5:25 pm.
