SANTA CLARA, CA - Matthew Stafford set two records after beating the San Francisco 49ers 42-26, four or more touchdowns in three games, a Rams franchise record, and is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw 4 or more touchdowns consecutively in three regular-season games with no interceptions, and with 400 touchdowns, he is just one of the nine quarterbacks in the NFL history to do so.

“It’s awesome. It’s super cool,” Stafford said. “I’m just such a huge fan of the NFL. I have so much respect for the guys that came before me and played before me, and what this league means. To be able to reach milestones like that, there’s a ton of people involved.”

While having fun throwing the football to all the weapons he has on offense, Matthew completed 24 of his 36 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns.

“I was having a good time,” Stafford said. “I got hit on that one pretty good. I had to shake that one off a little bit. I’m having fun out there. I lose my mind when we score touchdowns.”

Speaking of weapons on offense, Davante Adams (WR) had 6 catches for 77 yards, one touchdown; Puka Nacua (WR) had 5 catches for 64 yards, one touchdown; Colby Parkinson (TE) had 4 catches for 41 yards, one touchdown; and Davis Allen (TE) had 2 catches for 8 yards and one touchdown.

The Rams' head coach, Sean McVay, had nothing but praise for the level of play from his quarterback.

“He’s just been in total command,” coach Sean McVay said. “It’s a continuation of a guy who really works his tail off throughout the course of the week. He uses the accumulation of knowledge and experience, and he’s just playing really confidently. It looks like the game is really in slow motion to him right now.”

Stafford and the Rams look great on offense at start of the first quarter, and on their first possession of the game, came out hot throwing the football, they march down the field for 64 yards on 10 plays, with a pass to Dante Adams going out of bound at the 49ers’ 2-yardline, capped off  the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams, and the extra point made by Harrison Mevis to lead 7-0.

The Rams led 14-0 after Stafford threw a 22-yard touchdown to Puka Nacua after going downfield on 7 plays and for 68 yards.

San Francisco started to show signs of life after Mac Jones threw a pass to George Kittle (TE) for a 14-yard diving catch to the 49ers’ 47-yard line.

Los Angeles would get the first turnover of the game with a fumble recovery by Jauan Jennings (WR) for 13 yards by Karmren Kinchens to the Rams' 28-yard line.

The Rams cashed in the fumble recovery in the second quarter with Stafford rolling out to his right to throw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Davis Allen (TE) to increase their lead to 21-0.

The Rams’ defense is one of the best at stopping the run, and stopped San Francisco’s Christian McCaffery on 4th and one at Los Angeles’ 11-yard line. The 49ers, on defense, forced the Rams to punt the football, and return the kick to the Rams’ 36-yard line.

Jones would give Jennings a chance to redeem himself with his fumble earlier, and threw a 6-yard touchdown to him to have San Francisco trailing at halftime 21-7 after going 36 yards on 7 plays.

San Francisco would trail 21-14  with their first possession of the third quarter going 65 yards on 10 plays, and Brian Robinson Jr (RB) scampered into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown run.

Davante Adams would give the Rams a 28-14 lead with a 2-yard touchdown reception with 2:39 left in the third quarter.

The 49ers didn’t lie down and continued to battle, and cut into Los Angeles’ lead 28-20 after Jones was flushed out of the pocket and found a wide-open Luke Farrell for a 9-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Williams would score his second touchdown on a 7-yard touchdown run, and the extra point was good to give the Rams a 35-20 lead.

With about 8:36 left in the game, San Francisco was driving down the field and looking to get another score at their own 41-yard line. Jones would throw a pass intended for McCaffery, but it was intercepted by the Rams’ corner back Emmanuel Forbes Jr, and returned 5 yards to the 49ers’ 38-yard line.

Stafford, working his magic by throwing the football, threw a no-look 16-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Colby Parkinson (TE) to give Los Angeles a 42-20 lead after driving 38 yards on 6 plays.

Kittle, by far the best tight end in the NFL, would score the final touchdown of the game for San Francisco with a 16-yard touchdown reception that would make the final score 42-26.

While the Rams’ defense held the 49ers' running game under 100 yards, McCaffery had 12  carries for 30 yards, and Robinson Jr had 8 carries for 41 yards, Kyren Williams carried the football 14 times for 73 yards, and Blake Corum had 13 carries for 56 yards, Los Angeles had 126 yards rushing.

Jones completed 33 of his 39 passes for 319 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, and Kittle led the 49ers in receptions, had 9 catches for 84 yards, one touchdown, Jauan Jennings had 6 catches for 71 yards, one touchdown, and Luke Farrell, with 2 catches for 13 yards and one touchdown.

The Rams (7-2) would remain in first place in the NFC West, tied with the Seattle Seahawks (7-2), who they play next Sunday at SoFi, which beat the Arizona Cardinals 44-22.
