Max Muncy with three home runs help the Dodgers beat the Rangers in a thriller 8-7

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers (10-3) are the first team in MLB with 10 wins, thanks to Max Muncy three home runs on the night, which is the second time in his career to help beat the Texas Rangers (7-6) at Dodger Stadium 8-7.
"It's just special," Muncy said of his second career three-homer game. "Any time you hit a home run in a big league game is special, let alone three. … I still think about the first time I did it, so it's just a special night, and to get the win on top of it was great."
With now 213 home runs under his belt, Muncy passed Steve Garvey and moved into sixth place, all-time home run leaders for the Dodgers.
"Garvey is one of those guys who is just kind of a Dodger icon," Muncy said. "The way he carried himself, the way he played the game, was just a model of consistency. … To pass him, it's something that's really, really special to me. It means a lot. And hopefully I can keep climbing."
Tyler Glasnow, the starting pitcher for the Dodgers, went 6.0 innings and gave up 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 home runs, and had 7 strikeouts.
Kumar Brocker pitched 5.0 innings and gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 home runs,and 5 strikeouts.
Muncy gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run over the right-center field wall off of Rocker.

Former Dodgers Corey Seager, with two outs, runners on first and third base, put Texas out front 3-1 with a two-run home run over the center field wall.
Muncy had the Dodgers trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning with a home run over the left-center field wall.
The Rangers increase their lead to 4-2 in the top of the fifth inning with a solo home run over the left field by Wyatt Langford.
The Dodgers were in scoring position with Andy Pagers on third base and Alex Freeland on first base with no outs. Hyeseong Kim, with a sacrifice fly ball, allowed Pages to come home to make the score 4-3, in favor of the Rangers.
Rocker loaded the bases with one out with Will Smith at the plate, and got out of the jam after Smith hit into a double-play to third baseman Josh Jung and back to Jake Burger at first to get Smith, and Shohei Ohtani out at third base to end the fifth inning.
Robert Garcia replaced Rocker in the bottom of the sixth inning to face Muncy, who outrun and was safe on first base. Teoscar Hernandez would single and get on base. Moments later, the Dodgers would lead 5-4 when Pages hit a sharp line drive to right field, and Muncy and Hernandez both scored.

The Dodgers would score two more runs and lead 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run home run by Pages over the right field wall with Muncy on base.
Texas would respond in the top of the ninth inning and tie the game 7-7 with a two-run home run by Evan Carter over the right- center field wall, and Joc Pederson scored, and a single by Ezequiel Duran into left field, and Sam Haggerty scored.
Muncy, with two home runs on the night, hit his third home run, a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning over the right-center field wall to lift the Dodgers past the Rangers with a thrilling 8-7 victory to take the first game of a three-game series.
Muncy made MLB history by becoming the first player ever in a game with five-plus runs, four-plus hits, three-plus home runs, and a walk-off home run.
