WOODLAND HILLS, CA - The Rams had a great practice as they prepared for their preseason game on the road Saturday, to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Matthew Stafford looked sharp throwing the football.
During the practice were quarterback Steton Bennett IV and rookie quarterback Ty Simpson from Alabama, both getting reps to showcase their talent in preseason against the Chiefs' defense.
After practice, head coach Sean McVay expressed his excitement about watching both of them play on Saturday and what he is looking for from his quarterbacks.

“I think just good command by both those guys, consistently making good decisions, playing within the timing and rhythm of whatever that play is that [Offensive Coordinator] Nate [Scheelhaase] decides to call. I want to see us get in and out of the huddle, good communication. There'll be a lot of different guys that'll be rotating in. I want Stetson to be able to do what he's done, and I want Ty to be able to do what he's done as well. It'll be fun to watch both those guys play.”

The Rams' offensive linemen got plenty of praise from McVay during camp, and he praised the great job his offensive line coaches are doing with them.
“I think they've been good. I think to be able to have the continuity that we have is a real blessing. Obviously, ‘Big Rob’ [Former Rams' Offensive Lineman Rob Havenstein] moving on, and he'll be calling the color commentary for the game, so it'll be cool to listen to Rob Havenstein there. What I will say is I've been pleased with that group. I think Coleman Shelton's leadership in the middle has been outstanding.
His command, his ability to see the game in the big picture lens, and the rapport that he and [Quarterback] Matthew [Stafford] have is really special. Kevin Dotson and Steve Avila have had really good camps, as has Warren McClendon and Alaric Jackson.
I think David Quessenberry has played really good football as well. I've been really pleased with that group as a whole. I think [Offensive Line Coach] Ryan Wendell and [Assistant Offensive Line Coach] Brian Allen and [Assistant Offensive Line Coach] Zak Kromer do a great job.
