LOS ANGELES - The Los Ángeles Dodgers (24-18) starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3-3) gave up back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning as the Dodgers fell to the San Francisco Giants (18-24) Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium 6-2.
It was the Dodgers' fourth straight loss and ninth in 13 games. This was the first time Yamamoto had allowed three home runs in a game.
The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Will Smith hit a sacrifice fly to score Shohei Ohtani. San Francisco tied the game 1-1 in the top of the third after Eric Haase hit a solo home run.
Los Angeles took the lead back when Ohtani hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning. This was Ohtani’ first home run since April 26.

“Taking the sinker the other way for a homer was great. He hit the ball on the screws three times,” Roberts said. “I thought it was a really good night. So now to go out and focus on pitching and get that recovery on Thursday, he can hopefully take that momentum from tonight and build on that through Anaheim and San Diego.”
In the top of the fifth inning, the Giants got back-to-back home runs from Harrison Bader and Eric Hasse to take a 3-2 lead.
Yamamoto allowed six hits and three earned runs in 6.1 innings before being replaced by Blake Treinen at the top of the seventh inning. Drew Gilbert singled off Treinen, and Heilot Ramos scored to give the Giants a 4-2 lead.
Jung Hoo Lee doubled on a line drive to right field, which allowed Willy Adames and Drew Gilbert to score. The Giants extended their lead to 6-2.
The Dodgers will look to rebound when they send Ohtani to the mound on Wednesday.
